Ecogenik's new Scaffold Panel system has been used for the first time at the site of The Shard building in London Bridge Quarter SE1 in London. The Shard, a spectacular glass tower - is set to become London's tallest building when it is completed in four years time.

Ecogenik's Scaffold Panel uses Ultraspan Extra panels with pre-formed integral clip rails which make them easy to attach to scaffolding. This means sturdy hoardings with a professional finish can be installed quickly and safely on site to create a secure work area for the construction team.

The photographs show the Ecogenik hoarding taking shape around the perimeter of the central London site. The logos of Sellar (the developers) and MACE (main contractors) will soon be appearing on the hoarding.

The panels used for this project are made from 100% recycled PVC and can also be pre-printed using UV digital print technology. Panels do not expand in sunlight and they can be re-used and re-located many times for a period in excess of 3 years before they are recycled again.

Ecogenik Managing Director Tony Doherty said "Scaffold Panel is a breakthrough in terms of simplicity. It is easy to clip-on the panels to scaffolding and rapid installation is assured." He added,"We are delighted to be involved in such a prestigious project as The Shard, which will become a world landmark when it is complete."
